Aluminium handrail and balustrade systems provide safety in areas with a fall risk, such as balconies, terraces, stairs, mezzanine voids and pool surrounds, while giving the facade a modern look. The handrail is the profile you hold on top; the balustrade consists of posts and infill elements between them.
Balustrade Types
- Picket balustrade: vertical or horizontal aluminium bars; a classic, economical solution.
- Glass-infill balustrade: laminated glass panels between posts that do not block the view.
- Frameless glass balustrade: thick laminated glass seated in a base channel; the most transparent look.
- Handrail only: an aluminium handrail fitted on top of existing concrete or masonry parapets.
Where Is It Used?
Apartment balconies, villa terraces, interior and exterior stairs, pool edges and guesthouse and hotel corridors are the main applications. Glass-infill balustrades are chosen for terraces with views in Dalyan and Göcek, while economical picket systems are popular for apartments in Ortaca.
Advantages
- Rust-free and maintenance-free; resistant to sea air.
- Durable powder-coated finish with no painting needed.
- Uninterrupted views with glass infill.
- Lightweight and easy to install.
- A range of colours and designs.
Safety and Dimensions
In homes, balustrade height is usually at least 100–110 cm from the finished floor. Gaps between infill elements should be narrow enough that children cannot pass through, and horizontal elements that invite climbing should be avoided. Tempered laminated glass is used for glass infill. Pricing is per linear metre; corners and stair slopes are assessed separately during the survey.
Installation
Posts are fixed to the floor or the slab edge with stainless anchors. The floor’s load capacity is checked before installation; on weak surfaces side fixing or additional plates are used. Installation is usually completed within a day.
Maintenance
Washing with soapy water twice a year and checking the fixings is enough. Salt deposits near the sea should be cleaned regularly. With a free survey and measurement we can choose the right balustrade type for your space together.
