A PVC entrance door consists of a reinforced PVC frame and sash with an insulated infill panel and needs far less maintenance than a timber door. The infill panel is a sandwich structure with rigid PVC or aluminium skins on both sides and insulating foam inside, and can be enhanced with decorative patterns, glass or side lights.
Where Is It Used?
It suits detached houses, villas, guesthouses, apartment entrances and service doors to the garden. In Ortaca, Köyceğiz and Dalyan, choosing a PVC entrance door instead of a timber door that swells and cracks with humidity and sun clearly reduces maintenance costs.
Advantages
- Does not swell, rot or need painting.
- Burglary resistance with a multi-point lock and security cylinder.
- Thermal and acoustic insulation thanks to the insulated panel.
- Personalisation with different panel designs and laminated colours.
- Bright entrance with side and top lights.
Technical Features
Entrance doors use a stronger sash profile and thicker steel reinforcement than window profiles. The sash usually opens inward or outward; handles, pull bars, door viewers and door closers can be added as required. In the locking system the latch, bolt and additional hook locks work together to secure the sash to the frame at several points.
Sizes and Installation
Standard single-leaf entrance doors are made 90–100 cm wide and 210–220 cm high; double-leaf or side-light models are used for wider openings. During installation the frame is levelled, fixed to the wall with strong anchors and the threshold is waterproofed. A canopy or eaves over entrances directly exposed to rain extends the door’s life.
Maintenance
Panels are cleaned by wiping with a damp cloth. Oiling the lock mechanism and hinges and adjusting the door closer once a year is enough. If the door sags or the lock turns stiffly, our service team adjusts the hinges and keeps on site. We can choose the panel design and colour together from the catalogue during the survey.
