A tempered glass shower enclosure is a shower partition made to the size of the bathroom from heat-strengthened safety glass and aluminium profiles. It is fitted straight between two walls in recessed showers, or as a combination of fixed panel and door in larger bathrooms.
Where Is It Used?
It is used in home bathrooms, guesthouse and hotel rooms, apartments and the showers of sports facilities. In bathroom renovations in Ortaca and Dalaman, switching from a shower curtain to an enclosure is one of the most popular changes for both hygiene and appearance.
Door Options
- Sliding door: needs no swing area; ideal for narrow bathrooms.
- Hinged door: wide entry and easy cleaning; for bathrooms with enough space.
- Bi-fold door: folds inward in very tight spaces.
- Fixed panel (walk-in): door-free single glass panel; a modern, minimal look.
Advantages
- Safe use with tempered glass.
- A perfectly fitting partition made to measure.
- Far more hygienic than a shower curtain.
- Easy cleaning with an anti-limescale coating.
- Stainless hinges, handles and rollers.
- Clear, frosted, tinted or patterned glass options.
Sizes and Installation
Recessed enclosures are usually made 80–160 cm wide and 190–200 cm high. Wall plumb is measured during the survey; any deviation is compensated by adjustment in the profiles or by custom cutting. On installation the profiles are fixed with stainless plugs and screws and the joints are sealed with sanitary silicone. Installation is usually completed within a few hours.
Maintenance
Wiping the glass with a squeegee after each shower largely prevents limescale. Use non-abrasive glass cleaners for weekly cleaning; strong acidic descalers can damage the profile finish and seals. Checking the rollers on sliding doors and the hinges on hinged doors once a year is recommended. Our service team can help with seal and roller replacement.
