Insect screen mesh replacement is a service that replaces torn, punctured, sagging or sun-worn mesh in screens whose aluminium frames are still sound. Because the frame and accessories are kept, it is much more economical than having a new screen made.
When Is It Needed?
- Mesh torn by cats, dogs or children.
- Mesh that has come out of the frame or sags in the wind.
- Mesh that has become brittle and broken after long sun exposure.
- Worn pleated mesh and tension cords in pleated screens.
- Upgrading standard mesh to pet mesh.
Mesh Options
- Fibreglass mesh: standard, transparent and economical; for hinged, sliding and fixed screens.
- Pet mesh: thick, PVC-coated and scratch-resistant; for homes with pets.
- Pleated mesh: foldable polyester mesh for pleated systems.
- Fine mesh: against tiny insects near the lake.
How Is It Done?
In hinged and fixed screens the mesh is held in a groove in the frame by a rubber spline. During replacement the old spline and mesh are removed, the new mesh is laid taut and pressed into the groove with a new spline. In pleated screens the pleated mesh and tension cords are renewed together. The work can be done on site or in our workshop and is usually completed the same day.
Advantages
- Much more economical than a new screen.
- Frame and accessories are kept.
- Option to upgrade to pet mesh.
- Quick work, often the same day.
- Good rates for bulk replacement.
Pricing
Mesh replacement is priced per square metre; a minimum chargeable area applies to small window screens. Pet and pleated mesh cost more than standard fibreglass. For screens with bent or broken frames, a new screen may be recommended instead of mesh replacement.
Pre-Season Renewal
In Ortaca, Dalyan and Köyceğiz, replacing mesh in spring before the mosquito season starts means a trouble-free summer without waiting in the busy period. For guesthouses and holiday homes, we plan to check and renew all screens in a single visit.
