A PVC balcony and garden door connects the interior with a balcony, terrace or garden and is made from the same profile family as the windows. If desired, the door sash can be made with a tilt function so you can ventilate from the top without fully opening the door.
Where Is It Used?
Apartment balconies, garden exits of detached houses, kitchen doors to the backyard and terrace exits of guesthouse rooms are the most common uses. In garden homes in Ortaca and Dalaman, leaving the door tilted in the morning to let in cool air is a popular habit.
Advantages
- Same look and colour as the windows.
- High security with multi-point locking.
- Low threshold option for trip-free passage.
- Controlled ventilation with the tilt function.
- Insulation with double glazing and double gaskets.
- Single or double-leaf (mullion-free) versions.
Technical Design
Door sashes are larger and heavier than window sashes, so steel-reinforced profiles and hinges with high load capacity are used. A solid infill panel can be chosen for the lower section for security and durability; in fully glazed doors laminated or tempered glass is recommended at the bottom. The threshold has drainage channels that let water run outside.
Sizes and Installation
Single-leaf balcony doors are usually 80–100 cm wide and 210–230 cm high. In wide openings a fixed or opening window is added alongside to create a door-window combination. During installation, positioning the threshold slightly above the balcony floor and completing it with an outward-sloping sill or waterproofing prevents water from entering during winter rains.
Maintenance
Because the door is used frequently, checking the hinge adjustment once a year, cleaning the lock keeps and caring for the gaskets is recommended. If sagging or difficulty closing occurs, our service team adjusts the hinges and keeps on site. Adding a hinged or pleated insect screen outside the door gives mosquito-free use in summer.
