Hardware and handle replacement is a service that replaces broken, worn or failed hardware in PVC and aluminium windows and doors with compatible new parts. The mechanism of a tilt and turn window consists of the handle, the gearbox under it (espagnolette), corner drives, the stay, hinges and locking points. A fault in any of these affects the whole window.
Which Parts Are Replaced?
- Window handle: broken, loose or faded handles; lockable and child-safe options.
- Espagnolette and corner drives: transfer the handle’s movement to the locking points.
- Stay: the upper mechanism that holds the sash in the tilt position.
- Hinges: the top and bottom hinges carrying the sash weight.
- Door lock and cylinder: lock body and cylinder in entrance and balcony doors.
- Sliding rollers: worn or broken carrier rollers.
Why Is Replacement Needed?
Over the years hardware wears out, and metal parts can corrode in humid, salty air. Forcing the handle can break the gearbox. In humid, seaside areas such as Ortaca, Dalyan and Göcek these problems are more common, especially with old or low-quality hardware.
Advantages
- Restores function without replacing the window.
- Smooth operation with compatible spare parts.
- Extra security with a lockable handle.
- Reduced fall risk with a child-safe handle.
- Handle colour matched to the joinery.
How Is It Done?
Our technician identifies the type and size of the existing hardware; where possible we ask for a photo of the problem so we can bring the right part on the first visit. During replacement the sash is removed from its hinges if necessary, the old part is taken out, the new one fitted and the whole sash readjusted. For very old systems where parts are unavailable, alternative hardware that can be adapted to the existing sash is offered.
Pricing
The price is set per item according to the part replaced, including parts and labour. There is a price difference between a simple handle change and full mechanism renewal; a clear price is given during the visit. Contact us for service requests in and around Ortaca.
