A pet insect screen uses a thick, durable mesh woven from polyester yarn and coated with PVC instead of standard mesh. Several times stronger than ordinary fibreglass mesh, pet mesh withstands cats climbing and dogs pushing with their paws without tearing.
Where Is It Used?
It is chosen for windows and doors in homes with pets, especially bedroom and living room windows that cats love. In garden homes in Ortaca and Dalyan, where there are many street animals and cats, it also stops animals from outside tearing the screen. Pet mesh can be used in hinged, sliding and fixed screens.
Advantages
- High resistance to scratching and tearing.
- Reduces the risk of cats falling from windows.
- Long-lasting, no frequent replacement needed.
- Sun-resistant coating.
- Can be used in hinged, sliding and fixed systems.
Technical Information and Selection
Because of its thickness, pet mesh is a little less transparent than standard mesh and allows slightly less airflow. A good balance is to use it only on windows and doors your pets can reach and standard mesh elsewhere. Since pet mesh is heavier, a sturdy frame and strong hinges are chosen. On doors a pet flap can be added to the lower section if desired.
Sizes and Installation
Pet screens are made within the size limits of the system they are applied to. Installation is the same as a standard screen, but extra fixing points and a magnetic catch are preferred as cats may force the frame. Telling us about your pets’ behaviour during the survey helps choose the right system.
Care
The mesh can hold pet hair, so it should be cleaned regularly with a vacuum cleaner or damp cloth. The standard mesh in your existing screen can be replaced with pet mesh without changing the frame, which is both economical and quick.
