A different climate from the coast
Menteşe is the provincial centre of Muğla, an upland town at roughly 650 metres. Winters are much harsher than in the coastal districts, with morning frost and snowfall around Yerkesik being quite normal. So in Menteşe the first question about a window is not whether it has a screen, but how well it keeps the heat in. Summers are dry and hot, though, and screens are still needed to leave windows open in the cool of the night.
The right window for winter
- Multi-chamber uPVC profiles: frames and sashes with high insulation values and double gaskets.
- Low-E coated double glazing: reflects indoor heat back into the room and eases winter heating bills.
- Warm-edge spacers: reduce condensation at the edge of the glass and the mould marks that follow.
- Roller shutters: an extra layer of insulation on winter nights and sun control in summer.
Student flats and apartment blocks
Around Kötekli, close to the university, there are many student flats and rented apartments. For landlords we recommend durable, low-maintenance solutions that cope with changing tenants: solid hinges and locks, screens where only the mesh needs replacing when worn, and replacement of misted glass units without disturbing the frame. For several flats, measurements can be labelled by flat number and produced in one batch.
Care with old Muğla houses
Historic neighbourhoods such as Saburhane and Konakaltı are home to traditional Muğla houses with whitewashed walls, tiled roofs and timber windows. If you are thinking of replacing frames in one of these houses, the listing status of the building and the rules that apply should first be confirmed with the municipality and the relevant authorities. Where it is permitted, we aim for a result close to the original facade using woodgrain-laminated uPVC or slim profiles, and we discuss this together during the survey before any decision is made.

Menteşe is about an hour and a quarter from Ortaca. We group surveys in the area onto the same day. Sharing photos and rough measurements helps us give you initial guidance at the first contact and make good use of the visit day.
Before winter arrives
Early autumn is the most comfortable time to plan window work in Menteşe. Demand rises with the first cold spell; if you get in touch early, measuring, production and installation can be finished before winter sets in.
