Regular Maintenance That Extends Joinery Life

PVC and aluminium joinery lasts a long time, but sashes, hardware and gaskets that are opened and closed every day need adjustment and care over time. A sagging sash, a stiff handle, a draughty gasket or a torn insect screen rarely means replacing the window; with the right intervention it quickly returns to its original performance. • Sash sagging and rubbing: the sash rubs against the frame and closes with difficulty because hinge adjustment has drifted or glazing blocks have shifted.
• Stiff or loose handle: dirty, worn or broken hardware.
• Draughts and water ingress: worn gaskets or a sash not pressing fully against the frame.
• Sliding sashes moving stiffly: worn rollers or sand in the track.

Pre-Season Maintenance for Guesthouses and Holiday Homes

In guesthouses, apart hotels and holiday rentals in Dalyan, Sarıgerme, Köyceğiz and Göcek, windows left closed all winter can cause problems at the start of the season: stiff handles, sashes that will not close and torn insect screens. Emergency repairs after guests arrive are both costly and a source of complaints. With our pre-season maintenance package, all windows, doors, insect screens and shutters are checked and adjusted in a single visit, and a report is provided for any parts that need replacing.

How We Work

When we receive your service request, we ask for a description of the problem, photos if possible and the joinery type. This lets us bring the necessary parts and complete most jobs in one visit. During the on-site inspection we clearly state whether repair or replacement is more economical; we do not recommend unnecessary part replacements.

Simple Maintenance You Can Do Yourself

• Apply a few drops of machine oil to the moving parts of the hardware once a year.
• Treat gaskets with silicone spray to keep them flexible.
• Regularly clean sliding tracks and drainage holes.
• Wipe profiles with non-abrasive soapy water.
• Do not force the handle; if it turns stiffly, it needs adjusting.

Repair or Replace?

For a window with a sound profile and only worn hardware or glass, repair is almost always more economical. But for windows with cracked, discoloured and brittle profiles, very old single-gasket designs or extremely poor insulation, switching to new joinery may make more sense in the long run than repeated repairs. During the visit we show you the cost of both options side by side to help you decide.

We can carry out adjustment, hardware and gasket replacement on most PVC and aluminium joinery systems commonly used in the region. Spare part compatibility is determined by measuring the existing hardware during the visit.
