Humidity and condensation by the lake
Köyceğiz is a quiet town on the northern shore of the lake that shares its name, surrounded by sweetgum trees and orange groves. The lake keeps summers cooler, but it also keeps humidity high all year round. On winter mornings, single-glazed or worn frames often show water droplets on the inside of the glass, dark stains in the window corners and mould at the base of walls. The main cause is the temperature difference between the cold glass surface and the warm indoor air, which produces condensation.
The right solution for humidity
The first step we recommend in Köyceğiz is a quality double glazed unit that raises the inner surface temperature of the glass. Low-emissivity coated glass and a warm-edge spacer noticeably reduce condensation at the corners. If the frame is in good condition, replacing only the glass unit is possible; if it is rotten, warped or does not close, replacing it with a uPVC window gives a more lasting result. Handles with micro-ventilation allow air exchange without chilling the room.
Homes with gardens and pets
Detached houses with gardens and two-storey family homes are common in the district. Since many families with gardens keep cats and dogs, pet screens are frequently requested to resist the claws that quickly tear ordinary mesh. This mesh is thicker and stronger, and lasts much longer especially on door screens and lower window sections that pets climb.

Travel and service
Köyceğiz centre is about 25 minutes from Ortaca. We also serve the villages around the lake and houses on the hillsides; for more distant locations we plan survey and installation days together with other jobs on the same route. When replacing double glazing the frame is not touched, so the work is usually finished in a few hours.
Small habits that reduce condensation
Even after new windows and glass are fitted, airing rooms briefly in the morning, not drying laundry in a closed room and not keeping curtains fully closed against the glass reduce condensation further. During the survey we also share practical tips like these based on how you use your home.
