Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about surveys, measuring, installation times, pricing, guarantees and product choice.
General
We do not charge separately for survey and measurement visits within our service area. When booking, sharing the job you want, approximate sizes and a few photos if possible makes the visit more efficient. Measurements are taken on site after checking the frame and wall condition, and you then receive a written quote based on product and square metre. There is no time pressure for you to review the quote and decide. Surveys at the far ends of our area may be scheduled together with other appointments on the same route.
The time depends on the product type and how busy the period is. Products made in our workshop, such as insect screens, are usually ready quickly; made-to-measure work that needs glass units, such as uPVC windows, double glazing and glass balconies, takes longer. The exact delivery date is confirmed when the quote is approved, and the installation day is agreed with you in advance. The installation itself is finished in one day in most homes; for many windows or project-based work, the timeline is discussed separately during the survey.
Products such as windows, insect screens and glass balconies are mostly priced per square metre; product type, profile series, glass type, colour and accessories all affect the price. For very small items, production and labour costs do not fall in proportion to the area, so a minimum chargeable area applies; this varies by product and is stated clearly in the quote. You can share sizes and photos for a preliminary price, but the final price is given after the on-site survey.
In quotes within our service area, standard installation labour is included in the price. If extra work is needed, such as removal of old frames, sills, frame extension profiles, high facades requiring scaffolding or alterations to the wall, these are shown as separate items in the quote. This way you will not face a surprise extra charge on installation day. During the survey we explain item by item what is included and clarify your questions before you approve the quote. No charges are added beyond the items in the approved quote.
Yes. A warranty certificate is issued for the products we deliver. The warranty period varies by product, and coverage may differ for components such as profiles, glass units, hardware and motors. Which coverage applies to which product is stated in writing in the quote and on the warranty certificate. We also provide support for problems arising from installation workmanship. For details, please see the Warranty and Service Terms page on our website or ask us directly. We recommend keeping your warranty certificate together with your invoice.
Our workshop is in Ortaca. In addition to Ortaca centre and its neighbourhoods, we regularly serve Dalyan, Sarıgerme, Okçular, Eskiköy, Dalaman, Köyceğiz, Göcek, Fethiye and Seydikemer. In more distant locations such as Marmaris, we take on project-based work on pre-planned days. If you are not sure whether your area is covered, just send us your location and we will quickly let you know whether a suitable survey day is available. For distant areas we can also give a preliminary price from photos and sizes.
We accept cash, bank transfer and credit card. The payment plan is agreed at the quote stage according to the size of the job; usually a deposit is taken when the order is confirmed and the balance when installation is complete. Because credit card instalment options can vary by bank and period, we recommend asking us about current instalment options. Payment terms are stated in writing in the quote. A legal invoice is issued for all payments and payment records are shared with you.
In our region April to August is the busiest period, mainly because of insect screen, glass balcony and holiday home work. During these months survey and installation appointments may be pushed to later dates. We advise guesthouse, hotel and rental villa owners to book a survey in March or April, before the season opens. We still provide service for urgent faults and broken glass in midsummer, but scheduling planned work for autumn and winter shortens waiting times and gives you more flexibility in choosing a day.
Yes, we issue a legal invoice for all sales and installation work. For individual customers the invoice is issued with name and address details; for businesses with company title and tax details. Simply share your invoice details when approving the quote. For commercial customers such as guesthouses, hotels and shops, we can also prepare an itemised invoice and a delivery record if needed. The warranty certificate is handed over together with the invoice. If you need an electronic invoice, simply mention it at the quote stage.
If you notice a problem with sash adjustment, locks, insect screens or glass after installation, simply contact us by phone, WhatsApp or the contact form. If possible, share a photo or short video of the problem so we can come with the right parts and team. Issues covered by the warranty are fixed free of charge, and you are informed in advance about anything outside its scope. We also provide adjustment, repair and parts replacement for products not purchased from us.
Insect Screen Systems
A pleated screen opens and folds sideways thanks to its accordion-like mesh; it suits wide balcony and terrace doors and is almost invisible when not in use. A hinged screen is a framed leaf that opens and closes like a door; with spring hinges it can close by itself and is more durable on frequently used kitchen or garden doors. For windows, hinged or fixed screens are usually preferred. During the survey we recommend the most suitable model based on opening direction and frequency of use.
A pet screen uses a special mesh with thicker fibres and a tighter weave that resists pets’ claws much better. Normal mesh tears quickly when a cat or dog climbs it, while pet mesh withstands this strain for much longer. It is usually used on garden doors and lower window sections that pets can reach. If needed, an extra protective panel can be added to the lower part of a door screen. It looks slightly darker and more visible than normal mesh.
Yes. If the screen’s frame, hinges and mechanism are sound, only the mesh can be replaced. This is more economical than renewing the whole screen. For pleated screens, the mesh and cords work as a unit, so replacement is assessed according to the condition of the mechanism. We sometimes replace mesh on site and sometimes take the screen to the workshop. During the visit we check the frame and tell you honestly whether repair or renewal makes more sense. If you have pets, you can also choose pet mesh when replacing it.
Not with the right model. On inward-opening uPVC windows the screen is fitted outside or onto the frame, so you can open and close the sash freely. For outward-opening or sliding windows, a pleated, sliding or hinged screen is chosen according to how the sash moves. Details such as the handle, shutter box and sill are checked during the survey. The aim is that you can use the window for ventilation and cleaning without problems while the screen is fitted. If needed, the hinge side of the screen is also set according to the sash opening direction.
Usually not. Pleated and sliding screens can be folded away when not in use, so they can stay in place all year. Hinged and fixed screens can also remain fitted in winter; however, on facades very close to the sea or exposed to strong winds, removing and storing them if they will not be used all winter can extend their life. In either case, cleaning the mesh with a soft brush and water once or twice a year and keeping tracks and hinges free of dust is enough maintenance.
PVC Windows and Doors
In some cases a new frame can be fitted over the old one, but this reduces the glass area and does not solve the problem if the old frame is rotten or warped. The method we usually recommend is to remove the old frames completely, fully seal the gap between frame and wall with foam and sealant, and fit new sills. This gives better results for both insulation and appearance. During the survey we look at the condition of the existing frame and explain both options to you.
Yes. Besides white, there are anthracite, grey, and woodgrain finishes such as oak and walnut, as well as solid colours. The colour can be applied to the outer face only or to both faces of the profile. Dark colours can heat up more on facades in direct sun, so we take the facade orientation into account in our recommendation. Complexes and apartment blocks may have facade uniformity rules, so we suggest checking with the management before choosing a colour. Coloured profiles may affect price and production time.
A lift-and-slide (HS) door is a sliding system in which large, heavy sashes lift slightly when the handle is turned and glide easily along the track. When closed, the sash settles onto its gasket, giving better insulation than conventional sliding doors. In wide openings between a living room and garden, terrace or pool, it brings the view inside while remaining easy to use. uPVC and aluminium versions are available; the right system is chosen during the survey according to the opening width and glass weight.
When old frames are removed, small pieces of plaster around the frame may break. We close these areas during installation with foam, sealant and, if needed, plaster repair; interior sills and cover trims also hide most imperfections. However, on painted walls the repaired area may look a different colour, in which case a paint touch-up may be needed. During the survey we assess how much disturbance removal may cause and let you know in advance. Protecting furniture and cleaning up are part of the installation.
Glass Balcony Systems
In apartment blocks and complexes, a glass balcony affects the facade, so approval from the owners’ board may be required under the management plan; some managements also set the colour and system type. For detached houses management approval is usually not an issue, but zoning and conservation rules may vary by area. We recommend speaking with your management before installation. On request, we can prepare an information note with product specifications and images for you to present to the management.
In a folding glass balcony, the panels slide along the track and fold together to one side; when opened, the balcony becomes almost fully open. In a sliding system the panels slide behind one another, so part of the opening always stays glazed, but it is practical to use and usually more affordable. On windy upper floors and wide balconies, the system is chosen together with the glass thickness. During the survey we compare both options and make a recommendation based on your balcony size and how you use it.
A correctly chosen and properly installed glass balcony keeps the balcony dry in normal rain. A bottom track with drainage channels is used, top and bottom connections are sealed and the seals between panels are checked. However, a glass balcony is not a fully airtight window; in very heavy, wind-driven storms a small amount of water may come in at the panel joints. On windy facades we choose the system and glass thickness with this in mind.
Double Glazing and Glass Systems
No, in most cases you do not. Mist between the two panes shows that the glass unit has lost its seal; this cannot be fixed by wiping the glass. If the window frame and sash are sound, only the double glazed unit is remade to size and replaced. This is much more economical than replacing the whole window and is usually done in a few hours. During replacement you can also improve insulation by choosing low-E coated glass. After measuring, a new glass unit is made and on installation day the old glass is removed and the new one fitted.
Tempered glass is heat-treated to be much stronger than normal glass; when broken, it shatters into small blunt pieces instead of sharp shards. It is used in glass balconies, shower enclosures and door glazing. Laminated glass consists of two panes bonded with a special film; when broken, the pieces stay attached to the film. It is preferred where safety, impact resistance and sound insulation are needed, for example in homes near the airport or large panes close to floor level. Both glass types can also be combined in a single double glazed unit.
Roller Shutters and Security Shutters
Yes. Retrofitted shutters use systems with an external box mounted on the outer face of the window or above the window opening, so the window does not need to be removed. Strap-operated, manual crank and motorised options are available. During the survey we check the wall area above the window, the opening direction and whether it will be used together with an insect screen. In new buildings, the shutter box can be planned together with the frames for a cleaner look. Insulated shutter boxes are chosen so that they do not cause heat loss.
Repair, Maintenance and Service
Yes. We also service uPVC and aluminium windows, doors, insect screens and glass balconies not purchased from us. Adjusting sagging or poorly closing sashes, replacing broken handles and locks, renewing gaskets, replacing misted double glazing and repairing sliding systems that have come off their tracks are our most common jobs. If you share a photo or video of the fault, we try to identify the necessary part in advance and solve it in a single visit. The charge is stated beforehand according to the type of work.
