Plains, highlands and villages
Seydikemer is a large district stretching from the Eşen River plain up to highland villages. Greenhouse farming and orchards dominate the plain, while livestock and highland life are common higher up. Most buildings are detached houses with gardens, two-storey family homes and village houses, with new apartment blocks increasing in the district centre. Summers on the plain are very hot, and winters in the higher parts are noticeably colder than on the coast.
Insulation and durability come first
In Seydikemer the first thing expected from a window is to keep the heat of the stove or boiler indoors in winter. We therefore recommend multi-chamber uPVC profiles and low-emissivity double glazing. In village houses wall thickness and window openings may not be standard; during the survey we measure each opening separately and, where needed, complete the gap with frame extension profiles.
Insect screens and shutters
Greenhouses and livestock on the plain mean plenty of flies and mosquitoes. In homes where the garden door is used often, hinged door screens are preferred, and fixed or hinged screens for windows. For families with pets we recommend thick pet-resistant mesh. For homes in direct sun or facing the main road, aluminium external shutters provide both summer shade and security when the house is empty.

Travel and planning
Seydikemer centre is about one hour fifteen minutes from Ortaca. For this reason we group surveys and installations in the area on the same day. If you contact us in advance, we will pick a suitable day together with other jobs in nearby villages and let you know. If you share photos and approximate sizes, we can also give you a preliminary price.
A note for highland houses
In houses higher up, winter wind and cold are harsher, so complete sash gaskets and thorough filling around the frame make a big difference. For highland houses used only in summer, we recommend shutters and a door with a sturdy lock for security during the winter.
